"A comfortable, relaxing hotel"

We booked one night in Room 3 which is on the lst floor and has a balcony. We received a very cordial reception and were delighted that we had use of the phone without additional charge as I had run out of cash on my pay-as-you-go. We were served afternoon tea outside in comfortable chairs on one of the terraces (also free of charge) and sat on our own balcony reading books for a while which was very relaxing. Dinner was excellent - we do not eat meat so it was good to have a choice of fish and not just salmon. Breakfast, too, was excellent with a vegetarian option including delicious home-made baked beans. Although rather expensive, we felt it was worth paying more for such superior accommodation and food and we will definitely be back when we next want to celebrate something special.

"Pleasant Evening "

Wingrove House has gone from being a slightly upmarket pub to a very pleasant eatery over the years. Having not been to it's latest iteration, indeed not been there for some years we took the plunge and went last night. On arrival one is struck by the feel of a colonial house, nice gardens and impressive entrance with a formal but friendly greeting. We sat in the lounge choosing our meal over a gin and tonic from the menu which whilst not massive was enticing. My wife started with the quail egg followed by the fillet steak and I went for smoked salmon followed by sea bream, both were beautifully cooked and presented by friendly waitresses accompanied by a bottle of wine from the list.

"Simply the best"

My wife and I have just spent a memorable few days at this "chic" hotel. It is meticulously run by Ian Graham, who we presume is the General Manager. The reception by Ian was warm, and thoughtful, offering afternoon tea after our long journey. The room was clean and immaculate. Supper was a delight, the service again under Ian was impeccable, the food delicious and served perfectly by the staff, breakfast in the morning was the same. In conclusion, great value, excellent service, and superbly led by Ian the General Manager
